Take Your Internet Business Opportunity to New Heights

March 2nd, 2009
by Shane Vandeventer

Many times when entrepreneurs start promoting their products or services online they encounter the same obstacle: “How can my business produce visitors to my website that won’t plunder my bank account?” An instant way to generate traffic is through pay per click campaigns. However, this method can be very time intensive, although it can produce results quickly.

One consideration with pay per click advertising is that your costs have to be managed carefully to ensure profitability. In a competitive atmosphere, this can incredibly difficult. Typically, you will have some competition in any market that has profit potential. Certain niche markets will produce inexpensive clicks to your website.

The beautiful thing about generating traffic is that is doesnt have to be expensive. Your time and knowledge can be put to work through blog entries, writing articles, or even networking on social networking sites. Personally, I like writing articles.

Updating your blog with anchor text pointing to your URL can boost your website’s incoming links that Google, Yahoo, and MSN respect and they will put you higher in the search results for your keywords. Blog.com and wordpress.com are some great places to get your blog going quickly and cheaply. I found wordpress.com to meet my needs for getting a blog going without having to reach into my pocket.

Writing articles is one of the tried and true methods for generating traffic. It does take time and it requires a level of creativity that many people dont possess or want to muster. Try writing an article between 400-600 words that solves a problem or teaches something meaningful for your target audience. Put a hyperlink in the article body and then another one in the signature box pointing to your offer.

Social networking is the latest trend in internet marketing. This method has generated a lot of revenue for those that have been diligent in pursuing it. The operative word is networking not marketing. You dont want to be considered a spammer by the community you are trying to attract. Put links to your blog or to one of your other networking pages from your posts. For example, on your facebook page put a link to your youtube page. Do not put a link directly to your offer from your posts. This is considered spam and it will not be received well by your target market.

The primary objective is to just be who you are and you will inevitably connect with people who have similar values and interests. The best approach is to provide valued content to the people on the network, not unlike you would with article writing and doing a blog. People admire and respect others that bring value and solutions to the community. Some of best websites for social networking are youtube.com, facebook.com, and twitter.com. At one time, Myspace was very useful for networking, but unfortunately it isn’t as popular as it once was.

Putting these tools to work for you can result in your income increasing dramatically and reaching your goals.
